Pastors targeted in Nigeria

Pastor Gideon fled with his family when their village in Plateau State, Nigeria was attacked by armed militants.

Hours later, Gideon decided to go back, telling his wife, Tarfusa, “If I run away and am saved, I might go back and have no one to preach to."
He would rather die with his community.

Tragically, the beloved pastor was killed along with 7 others on his way back. Their home and church were also burned in the attack.

Nigeria is the deadliest country in the world for Christians. Recent attacks in Christian-majority Plateau State and across Nigeria have taken the lives of thousands of believers, displaced thousands more, and destroyed local churches.

This violence is not random; it's a targeted strategy called 'strike the shepherd, scatter the sheep,' which means getting rid of church leaders so communities fall apart.

That’s exactly what happened in Tarfusa’s village. The militants killed the central figure of their community, destroyed their home, and left Tarfusa a widow without a place to raise their children alone.

Yet, Tarfusa’s faith remains her anchor as she draws strength from the Lord.

In a time like this, your quick response changes the outcome for believers like Tarfusa with emergency aid, trauma care, and rebuilding projects to restore their communities.
