To me, the United Nations feels like a ghost

To me, the United Nations feels like a ghost – it just isn't there when real people need it most. They talk big about peace and protecting the innocent, but when pain hits close to home, they look away.

It's heartbreaking, isn't it? Like a big family that promises to help everyone, but only cares about the rich and powerful ones.
Think about what happened in the southeast of Nigeria, in Igbo land. The government sent the army for "Operation Python Dance" – one, two, three times. And then "Crocodile Smile," with those smiling names that sound almost funny, like a bad joke. A python dancing? A crocodile smiling? But there was no dance, no smile. Only tears.

Thousands of young men – unarmed, just living their lives, dreaming like any of us – were shot down. Homes turned to ashes in one night. Mothers lost sons. Fathers buried children too soon. Families shattered, scattered like broken glass. I still see it in my mind: empty chairs at dinner tables, quiet villages that used to laugh loud.
That season ended, but the hurt didn't. Today, drive through the southeast – every few kilometers, another checkpoint. Soldiers and police standing there, day after day. What do they do? they take money. Just like that. Extortion, plain and simple. It's almost comical how normal it feels now – like paying a toll to breathe free in your own home.

I remember one night, traveling from Lagos to Aba for my business. Tired, hopeful, just wanting to get home. But those checkpoints... they "dealt with me nicely," as they say. Called us terrorists because we're Igbo. Laughed while taking what little I had. I cried in the dark, alone on the road. Where was the UN then? Silent. Not a word to the world about the quiet war on innocent people.
The southeast has never healed. Nights are heavier now. Dreams feel farther away. And those terrorist groups burning churches, killing farmers up north? The UN says little. Does nothing real. Why? Maybe their leaders' pockets are full – billions safe in banks while people bleed.
It's sad, so very sad. Intelligent people built the UN to stop this kind of suffering after old wars. But today? It protects the strong, ignores the weak. Unless you're a big power like America – no one dares touch them.

God bless America. God bless Israel. God bless every true leader who fights for good. And to the bad ones hiding behind flags and money – your time is coming. Judgment might be slow, like America's, but it comes sure, like God's own.
This breaks my heart, but I had to say it. Share if it touches you. Comment your thoughts. Like if you feel the pain too. Let's wake the world.
