This week 47 years ago the Shah of Iran was forced to flee
This week 47 years ago the Shah of Iran was forced to flee largely because President Carter and other Western leaders naively refused to back him despite the threats of Islamists who were leading the revolution for his ouster. This, along with Carter’s failure to respond to the US embassy being taken over, paved the way for the Islamic Republic to hijack Iran and terrorize the Iranian people and the world for nearly half a century.
President Obama continued the treacherous weakness in US policy (something he’s even said was a mistake albeit years too late) and missed the opportunity to act in support of widespread protests in the 2009 Green Revolution, a radical failure in support of the Islamists.
President Trump has spoken forcefully in support of the protesters and threatened the Islamic regime, but has yet to do anything concrete to support them and facilitate the Iranian people to bring down the ayatollahs and end their suffering.
As the Iranian regime has shut down the internet and reportedly killed so many people that bodies are being stacked on top of one another, it’s time and essential that the US and the West take action to support the Iranian people now.
This week.
We cannot let another year pass with the ayatollahs and IRGC still in control. Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi is waiting to return to Iran and lead his people to freedom. He is the best and most unifying leader who can do this.
If President Trump does not want to continue with the mistakes of his predecessors and truly wants peace, the eradication of the Islamic Republic is the greatest thing that can bring peace to the world at least since WWII if not ever. This is the week for decisive action.
